Plant Managers’ Manual
Description
If the Plant Manager and the plant team use a structured approach to setting the plant’s day-to-day activities and to solving the different problems that arise, the complexity of the plant management activities will be dramatically reduced. A structured approach doesn’t limit the different types of methods you can choose to solve each different situation, it just supports the management team to create order, avoid improvisation, and maintain stability, even in difficult times.
The failure of complex action plans decided on by the top management is another demonstration that despite the fact that the main power is at the top, the best level of information is at the bottom of the organization. So, don’t look for the responsible person because a plan has failed, because maybe that person is sitting in your chair. Instead, you can use another strategy: look in your agenda and plan the mapping of the basic elements in your plant, for as soon as possible. That will allow you to prepare a better plan.
